Ok...so this is interesting.
We had a Linksys wireless router at home that was kinda old....like wireless "B" old and it finally got to the point that everytime I plugged it into my cable modem that is would crash the connection, no signal to the computer whatsoever. So...off to Best Buy for a replacement.
After recieving a recommendation I decided to try a Netgear wireless "G" system. Hooked it up...so far everything has been great.
Now...most people who cal lme call my cell as they know they can always reach me, but a few still call the house phone. (Keep in mind I have digital phone that comes through my cable modem).
So here I sit doing some work form home and the phone rings....I notice the wireless connection instantly drops when the phone first rings. What the????
So after doing some research I have found that there is a chance that the Netgear router and the cordless phone are on the same frequency and that is causing the crash, or could it be the wireless modem just does not work to well, or could it be that the Netgear is not as reliable as I was told.
We just recently changed to the cable system, coming from DSL through the phone company so I am still learning the pluses and minuses of the cable set up.
Anybody ever experience this? Is it time to return this thing and go back to Linksys or some other brand?
HELP!
