Need To Lighten & Brighten?  Use What You Have!

I couldn't wait to share this with you!

One of the best ways to prepare a house for today's market is to be sure there's plenty of light, both artificial and natural.  However, with so many sellers on extremely tight budgets, what do you do if you need more lamps?  Use what you have!

These Stratford, Connecticut home sellers needed matching lamps for their Master bedroom, but they didn't have the budget to buy new ones.  We scoured the house to find something suitable.  The house, and their decor, had a Mid-century flair, so we knew we could use something unusual.  Here's clue to the style:

The vibe

The cool vibe.

No, I didn't make lamps out of pillows...

We couldn't find anything suitable...then I went into the screened porch, and found the solution:

swag lamps

These funky, retro swag lamps had been hung for a party, and stayed there.

After

After a little cleaning and polishing, they were ready to go - and fit the vibe perfectly, don't you think?

If you're stuck with a small budget and need ideas to help Stage your house for today's market, call a local professional Home Stager.  A modestly priced Staging Consultation could save you money, and get your house sold more quickly than the competition!

Julie, what a great idea! I think many sellers are afraid that they have nothing to use and just give up. Contacting you is the perfect solution.

I love retro btw... LOL.

Julie, I can see why you couldn't wait to share....very cool idea. Seller made a smart decision hiring you. It is always exiting to use things in the way the sellers would never think of.

Julie - You really are the Master of Invention!  These party swags are the perfect, cool, mod solution for this mid-century mod home.  I'm still a little disappointed that you didn't make lamps out of the cushions, but maybe you'll save that for another day?...  he he he...

Hi Anna!  I was so tickled to find those swags - the sellers thought I was crazy at first, but understood!

Jacki - Love the challenge too!

He he he, Sally!  You never know, it could happen!

Julia, you are right - lighting makes a big difference in showcasing the home. Perhaps that's why the first thing I do at the open houses is - Turn on all the lights.
