Having lived in Parker, Colorado and Douglas County for many years I know first hand that this is a very giving community and residents are always willing to lend a hand. Well here is a super opportunity to give back and have fun.

The Redman family lives right here in Parker, CO and have a son Nate that has inherited an aweful disease called Ataxia.

Here is a note from the Redman family.
Nate inherited a rare neurological disease known as ataxia affecting balance, coordination, vision and other organ systems ( www.ataxia.org ). Nate’s particular type is spinocerebellar ataxia, type 7; he was diagnosed in 2009 when he was just 17 years old. There is no known cure or drug that can improve his mobility, hand coordination issues or vision. Thus, he is experiencing disease progression and requires a wheelchair as well has his service dog Booster. Nate has been able to live on his own this year in an apartment in Littleton but will be moving in with a friend next week who will act as a caregiver which will be so much better for everyone and lots more fun for Nate too.
On Sunday, September 9th, 2012, the Greater Denver Ataxia Support Group is conducting its 2nd fund and awareness raising event, a 5K Run, Walk and Roll, to support ataxia research. Last year, our first year, was successful far beyond our expectations. We raised $25,000 and had over 160 participants. I am writing to ask your support in this years event by donating, participating or logging onto our website to learn more about this rare condition. We are team ‘Rockin Redmans’!
I encourage you to participate by registering and to also donate as you desire at our website.
