Rocky Mountain Reflections On Life's Journey

While travelling through the Rockies, there are times you just have to stop and look at these breathtaking views that God has created. One of these digital picture (not Kodak) moments occurred on Independence Pass, Colorado.

Independence Pass Colorado
This spectacular pass is on State Highway 82  and is the second highest paved mountain pass in Colorado. The elevation is 12,095 feet, with lots of switchbacks and narrow roads.

It certainly makes one think about their own road that is travelled. The road is winding, with switchbacks and dangers along the way. You may  think about the potholes, the rock slides, the mud slides and wondering if you are ever going to get to your destination.

When you reach the summit, and you can see where you have been and then look over to where you have to go, it all makes sense. As you look down the mountain to your destination, it appears like it will take no time to get there.

But as you proceed down that road, one must take it slow and cautious at times, thinking you will never get down the mountain.

Then you make that next winding turn through the aspen trees and there it is! Your destination!

Love your analogy. You can't enjoy the beauty of the destination without the climb and the curves. Well done.
