Advertising is very expensive. Print has gone way up and even the internet, in some areas, can cost a lot. We all do what we can to keep this in check.
My friend understood this well...
Ole died. So my friend Lena went to the paper to put a notice in the obituary.
The man behind the counter offered his condolences. "What would like to say about Ole?" he asked
Lena replied...You yust put 'Ole Died'.
The man behind the counter looked perplexed. "That's it? Just Ole died. Surly there must be something else that you would like to say. If money is the problem, the first 5 words are free. We must say something more."
So Lena pondered for a second. "Ok, you put 'Ole Died'. Boat for Sale."
There are many avenues to got our listings out to the public. But we must learn to do is economically if we want to stay viable.
