20ft Great White Shark spotted off the shore at Venice Beach, CA

Breaking news: a 20ft great white shark was spotted off the shores of Venice Beach yesterday. I am not trying to be sensationalistic, rather just to caution you that since we have this Summer Heat Wave going on, you might want to reconsider going in the waters near Venice Beach, CA.

I am of the generation when the movie “Jaws” came out, hence I am not trying to be an alarmist, just want to put a word of caution out there.

Please watch the video in case you are one of the non believers keep in mind it is about 53 seconds long and full of F…words from the person filming it:

According to marine biologists in the area no reason to be alarmed, because they are just “curious” well OK I feel better now….

Endre - It is shocking to see such a large shark next to their boat.  It's important that people know what is lurking out in the water.  Be safe!

Laura, I could not believe the video and what I found interesting that the Marine Biologist is saying that the shark was just trying to fin out what "it was" i.e.: to boat & its engine by biting into it....

Alan this is a safe distance:)

It's not sharks I'm afraid of at our Atlantic Beaches, it's jellyfish. When the water gets warm, it attracts them.

Endre, "Jaws" is the reason I don't go into the ocean anymore. I've been to Aruba several times and once I swam out a ways from the beach because I thought there was a protective barrier or net...it turned out to be a barrier for boats...no shark netting...believe me, I made a gold metal swim back to the beach!
