43 days and counting...Florida Realtors Convention and Expo wrap-up
Well, with 43 days to go before our local board elections, I decided to take a few minutes and make another quick video. Quick for me, that is! In this video, I discuss the recent Florida Realtors Convention and Expo that just wrapped up here in Orlando at the World Center Marriott.
I was able to get in some classes (including an Advanced Communications one for free CE credits!), but also had the opportunity to attend the Professional Standards Forum and Property Management Committee meeting, among others.
Good lessons were learned, indeed. A vast majority of folks at the convention had a true love for both our profession and our fellow man- though I must admit that that wasn't the case in all circumstances.
Without naming names, affiliation or discipline, I'll just say that I can surely thank one gentleman for setting a poor example. You see, we can learn from circumstances both good and bad and examples both good and bad. His example provided me with an up-close view and front-row seat to witness how one is to never conduct a meeting. At least not if one wants to be respected or admired- which, ironically, seemed to be what he was seeking.
At any rate, the convention overall was great- and surely not dragged down by one isolated instance of arrogance and conceit. I hope and pray all who attended have either already reached home safely or will do so very soon!
