Don't Be a Jellyfish!

Did you know that jellyfish have no heart, no bones and no brains?  They are just spineless creatures drifting through life, going with the flow.  Oh sure, they occasionally get lucky by having their food source captured in their tentacles....

Are you one of those that just drifts through life or do you enjoy every minute of living, sometimes going against the current and creating your own path?

While I think jellies are fascinating to watch and beautiful in their own way..... I certainly do not want to live like a jellyfish!

Wishing y'all a wonderful week!

Now, get out there and make great things happen!

And all this time I thought Jellyfish were just hanging out gunning for the unsuspecting swimmers trying to enjoy a day at the beach.

Amy, and if you get into their flow, they can sting pretty badly as well. Nice post

Amy, They may be interesting to watch at the acquarium or out in the sea, but there's not much time for drifting here!

Amy:  Great informative post about jellyfish, and I like your analogy.  I remember once hearing about a certain area on the coast of Florida that was not only just inundated by large gatherings of jellyfish... but once in a great while... the dreaded but little-known peanutbutter fish would show up, as well.  The swimmers never had a chance!

Amy - you make an excellent point and sometimes we get so caught up in the rat-race, we forget to be present and enjoy life right now! BTW - I've been stung by more than my fair share of those giant red Jelly Fish and it feels like being stung by 20 bees - nothing redeeming about them, lol!

Wayne & Jean - Life is way to short to float around waiting..... Thank you.

Peter - Thanks!

Cindy - Yes, lots of folks feel the same way you do.... All my years of living on the coast, I can say I have never been stung by a jelly!  Now, I'm knocking on wood :-)

Ed - Thank you.  Apparently some of them actually having deadly stings as well...

Bliz - I never would have thought you a jellyfish :-)  Glad I was right!

Lottie - Glad you are not a jellyfish either!  Have a great day!

Sussie - Actually, sea turtles eat Jellies, so I guess that is their purpose!  That's why it is so important to not throw plastic bags in the water.... they fill up and float like a jelly and the turtle eat them and die!

Karen Anne - Now I have to google peanutbutter fish.... Never heard of it!

Craig - We see a lot of jellies here, but I am certainly no jelly!  I do enjoy a good P-nut butter & jelly sandwich tho'.  Have a wonderful week!

Mom - You are far from a Jellyfish!  Never floating with current :-)

Laura - They are a little creepy.  Especially when we boat out to some of the islands here and they are everywhere... You have to dodge them as you walk.... YUCK!

Nick - Of course you're no jellyfish.... That's why I like you so much!  Birds of a feather, flock together!

Kristine - I have never been stung, but still do not like the jellies!  Although they are fun to watch at the aquarium.... they are fascinating as they "float".

Charlie - You, a jellyfish?  Now, you really are quacking me up!  Thank you!

Will - Thanks.... I think :-)  Hope no one got stung, and that you had a wonderful time with the grandkids!

Amy:  I was just being silly about peanutbutter fish.  Your post is about "jellyfish"... so I thought it might be nice if we could put them both in a sandwich... and end up with a PB&J... a peanutbutter fish and jellyfish sandwich, so to speak.  Maybe with a nice glass of milk ?

Have a wonderful day.

Hi Amy Hahn

I hate jellyfish and was stung by one many years ago and I still remember how bad it hurt for 3 days. I certainly wouldn't want to be a jelly; a spineless fish that preys on others.  (I see now that this is almost 3 years old)
