Lincoln Montessori Community Co-op offers students and parents a unique approach to the traditional learning environment. A Kindergarten through 8th grade program of Horizon Charter Schools, Lincoln Montessori (located in Lincoln, CA) is their only campus/site-based program. There is NO TUITION to attend. All classes have low student to teacher ratios.
With an emphasis on Montessori teaching, classroom environments are dynamic and interactive. Children are encouraged to reason, cooperate, collaborate, negotiate and to understand. Each classroom is multi-grade, which fosters peer-teaching and spontaneous group interaction for cooperative learning and emotional development. Technology is integrated into the student’s learning. In the upper grades it is infused into the projects as well.
The Co-op provides parents with an active role in their child’s educational journey. Parents are actively involved with the school and participate in various areas within the class and/or school functions. Uniquely, each parent is a member of the Parent Advisory Committee (PAC). As such they come together with the teachers as a community every 6-8 weeks to learn more about the school and parents involvement.
