Condominium Review: Railyard Crossing
Railyard Crossing is one of the newest condo developments in Downtown Winter Park. It is located just off the Main Street and is within walking distance of restaurants and shopping, and just steps from the free resort shuttle stop. The development will consist of two, three-story buildings containing 27 units total. The units are split between two- and three-bedroom configurations and will range from just over 1,000 square feet to 1,352 square feet for the three-bedrooms.
Anticipated to be completed in the Winter of 2008/2009, the units will of course be in excellent condition. The finishes are anticipated to be high-end, with slab granite counters in the kitchen and master bath, slate tile flooring, and stainless steel appliances standard. Parking will be in a common lot in front of the buildings, although two-car tandem garages are available for purchase separately.
The floorplans are very open and very versatile. Each unit contains a lock-off master suite with separate entry, allowing you to rent one side and stay in the other. The ceilings are 9 feet in most areas and the kitchen opens to the family room, allowing every member of the family to be included in the fun. Additionally, the three-bedroom units feature a spiral staircase to the third bedroom (loft) which has its own additional bathroom.
These units are best-suited for those individuals that are interested in enjoying the shopping and activities offered in town and don't mind a short shuttle ride to the ski area. Additionally, with the lock-off bedroom, the units are extremely well-suited to rentals, offering flexibility for the owners. The development is currently offering pre-construction pricing starting at $315,000 for a two-bedroom unit, but don't expect that to last.
