Can You Help Prevent Foreclosure? Can you help prevent foreclosure?
The answer is “YES”.
You may not be able to give the guidance and help the homeowner needs, but you CAN direct them to agencies designed just for that. Since foreclosures are at an all time high, chances are you know of a client, friend or family member that is having a hard time with mortgage payments and needs somewhere to turn for help. If you know of someone who could use mortgage help and lives in Northeastern Wisconsin/Fox Valley, there is a non-profit, HUD-Certified Housing Counseling Agency called Homestead Solutions, Inc that can help.

Homestead Solutions has Certified Housing Advisors that work with homeowners having difficulty with their mortgage payment for various reasons including, but not limited to:
· loss of employment
· death in the household
· divorce/separation
· poor financial planning
· unexpected expenses due to health issues
The goal of Homestead Solutions is to provide education, advice, counseling and resources to help homeowners prevent foreclosure.
Because they are partially HUD funded, there are no fees and they work to ensure that all homeowners are treated fairly, equally and in a timely manner.
Please visit the Homestead Solutions, Inc website for detailed, comprehensive information regarding foreclosure prevention.
Perhaps you don’t live in Wisconsin, but there is still help out there for struggling homeowners. Visit the HUD website or contact the FHA, VA, Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac to find resources in your area.
