This was extremly interesting to me as I have really never concentrated on points, I have also been in and out of AR for the last few years, I am planning on staying this time around, and so wanted to know what the point system was all about, this blog has helped me tremendously and so I hope that it helps someone else too. I know we shouldnt blog or do things for the point system, however this blog does bring up some intersting comments. I hope you enjoy as I did as well, happy reading.
ActiveRain has a point system and I have seen quite a few debates between those that are hooked on getting more points and others that are adamant that nobody should be in it for the points. My background in internet marketing tells me there is a little more to the points than just a game, they are incentives and a basic guideline to do the activities that will bring you success.
If you look at the point system you get points for every aspect effective marketing on the net. You get points for completing your profile, networking with the community, making yourself a local expert, helping someone else, asvertizing your listings, creating quality content, making the community grow. The points them self are not that important, but they are good markers to show that you are doing the activities that will bring you in front of prospective clients.
