Whistler valley has been enjoying a stretch of good weather with highs in the 80’s these past few weeks. This week Whistler is in the middle of the Crankworx mountain biking festival with the Red Bull Joyride slope-style and big air set to kick off at 5:30pm this Saturday. It should be a great show.
The past 2 weeks brought 27 new listings, 26 Price changes and 15 registed sales in the Whistler real estate market.

Whistler had 47 sales in July 2012 with an average list price of $659,000 and average sale price of $621,000. The same time last year gave us 29 sales with an average list price of $654,000 and average sale price of $626,000. This makes July 2012 one of the highest sales months we have seen in the past few years. Although we still have not seen the historical increase of listings in the summer months that we have seen in previous years, we still remain in a Buyer’s market with a good amount of inventory to choose from. This said if priced correctly and in a desirable location, inventory is moving, with Townhomes leading the charge.
Also of note: sales to date for 2012 are higher than the past 4 years and we currently have the lowest amount of inventory since 2008.
I would encourage you to contact me sooner than later if a Whistler purchase is something you are interested in. I have several options in phase I and II as well as standard residential properties that I feel offer value. Price points from $200k to $550k in the phase I and II, 1 to 2 bedrooms.
