My "little" 3 year old warm blood, Tinkerbell, went to pre-school this summer for 90 days with Oregon sport horse trainer Carrie Allen. Carrie has trained several horses for me, so there was no question about where to send little miss Tinkerbell to be lightly started this summer.
Tinkerbell, is by Tiamo Tracadero. He was an alternate for the 2000 British Olympic Dressage Team, won many awards at the FEI level from USDF. Her dam is Midnight Heist, my */*/- Premium Mare Book ISR NA Oldenburg broodmare. I have to brag about the mare, because ALL of her babies have been inspected, and they were ALL awarded Premium status. She is now approved in the Main Mare book for Oldenburg Verband, and her 2012 filly was awarded Premium status by Verband as well. So, you can tell I am a little proud of this line!
I happened to be in Grants Pass for the weekend, so I was able to witness the first time she backed the filly, along with some long lining work they have been doing. Tinkerbell is so compliant and good minded, I am excited to see her perform in the dressage ring some day. But for now, she will finish out her 90 days of "pre-school" and then come home to be a horse and grow up a little more during the winter.
If you are looking for an honest, fair trainer and true horse woman to start your horse under saddle, I strongly recommend you check out Carrie Allen of In Motion Sport Horses.
