According to Websters Philatelic is the study of stamps and the history of the system. Well I am here to tell you that stamps can be a unique way to help you in your real estate business and save you money at the same time.

One day a friend of mine was talking about his shop, which is the only stamp collectors shop in the state of Kentucky that I know of, and how he has started a new service. The service consisted of selling me US postage for 30% off of the face value of stamps. I told him I knew you could get forever stamps and then not have to worry about the price going up, and he said yes that is true but what if you could show a little history on every envelope you send out.

StampsOK so before you go all ballistic about email versus postage, I do know if costs nothing to email other than monthly fees for internet that you are already paying for to even read this blog post. Hear me out on this one, We are at the boom end of the baby boomers. They grew up with stamps, postage, horse glue for letters, mail carriers, etc. They are used to receiving many things in the mail, from bills, to offers, to letters from old classmates that want to stay in touch. I can remember as a kid having to lick stamps for my mom to put on letters to friends, or sending out invitations to parties, or just letters to say hello.

If you think about it that is over 20% of our population that knows about stamps and looks for things in the mail.

Send out a welcom card, send a just listed or home flyer. How about your prelisting package, do you send it in advance? In that case get your average one weighed and put on the appropriate postage.

And every time you use this postage you ill have people calling you about the crazy stamps you put on.

For more information about purchasing stamps this way, look up your local Philatelic Organization, or drop me an email and I will put you in touch with the people I am supplied by.

Selling Northwest Houston to good people like you!

I heard in a seminar years ago that if you use a "Live" stamp as opposed to bulk rate or postage machine and hand address the piece you have a far greater chance of someone paying attention to the piece.

Cool tip. I guess it makes sense...I notice it myself, so it must work for others too. Thanks Rick. Nice to see another EcoBroker too. ;)
