We know the University of Texas is something special, but, now let the rankings speak for itself! The University of Texas has ranked among the top 50 schools in the Center for World Class Universities 2012 Academic Ranking of World Universities. UT ranked #35 on the list and was ranked 5th in the subject category of engineering, technology and computer science.
Other Texas Universities that made the list are the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas at #48, Rice University at #91 and Texas A&M University at #93.
The list was based on a number of criteria including: the number of alumni and staff members who have won Nobel Prizes & field medals; the number of researchers chosen by Thomas Scientific; the number of published articles in journals; and performance in relation to the university’s size.
The University of Texas has made other lists during this past year: The Center for World University Rankings in Saudi Arabia ranked UT at #30 on its list of top 100 universities in the world and Times Higher Education in the United Kingdom ranks UT 29th in the world.
Congratulations, University of Texas!
