Celebrate good times!
Carmel Indiana has two great reasons to celebrate: earning the #1 spot on CNNMoney's 2012 list of Best Places to Live in America, and a July 2012 housing market report which indicates Carmel real estate is gaining strength.
July 2012 marks the first time this year that the Carmel housing market has shown improvement or held steady in every category when compared to July 2011. Most notably, neither Median Sales Price nor Average Sales Price dropped in July 2012 - as one or the other has in previous months. Median Sales Price didn't change at all, and we'll consider that a victory.
The Carmel housing market numbers also hold up well in a three-month comparison of May through July 2012 to the same time frame in 2011. Median Sales Price was down (-1.8%), but all other numbers were headed in the right direction.
The July 2012 Carmel housing market report is obviously good news for anyone considering selling their Carmel home. Stabilizing prices and decreased inventory mean small shifts in favor of sellers.
