The Storm is Approaching - Isaac is coming-Your Closing May Be Delayed -In Florida, closings can be held up by an impending storm. If the storm is in the box, no insurance can be written; so no closings can happen. As the storm is approaching the box, some companies may have already cut off insurance. If you are trying to close this week or next, you need to call your agent today and see if they are still binding insurance.
Closings will be delayed until the storm is no longer a threat to our area. In 2004, we had one storm after another enter the box, I had several closings that were delayed 5-6 weeks. Once the storm enters the box, nothing can be done regarding closing. Even if Isaac never actually knocks on our door, you still won't be able to close until he has died out or headed out of the box.
