Marple Township in Delaware County to expand recycling

On Sept. 5, Marple Township will start weekly collection of paper and co-mingled material. Previously, the township collected recyclable material on a bi-weekly schedule. The increased collection is expected to make it easier for residents to recycle and reduce the township’s waste disposal costs.

Collections will be held on Wednesday. Materials allowed in the single-stream recycling include all plastic soda, milk, and detergent bottles, aluminum and bi-material cans, clear, green, brown and blue glass, newspapers, junk mail, and paperback books.

The township offers single stream collection bins for residents at the township building, 227 S. Sproul Road. The bins cost $20.

For more information, call the township building at 610-356-4040. You can also email questions to Public Works through the township’s website: www.marpletwp.com. Click on “Contact Us” under “Department of Public Works.”
