I just noticed that I have a new neighbor. Normally this redhead is very shy but I did get this photo early this evening.

Joni,Thanks for stopping by. Seeing the wildlife is one of the great things about the Wyoming Mountains. I've only seen foxes a few times but this time I was close enough to get a photo. I have some previous blurry long range attempts.

Juli,Thank you. I've been blessed this last month and have managed to get close to several animals that normally stay far away. I will be posting a few more soon. And maybe the next few days I will get some more photos. A friend and I are taking horses for a three day trip into the wilderness area.

Bryan,Thank you. You're right that some of the wildlife is around but seldom seen. I knew there were foxes but had only seen them once and at a distance in the last three years until this week when this one moved in close by.

Gary I once ran into a foxy redhead out running one day in a forest in Flagstaff......all I could do was stop, turn around and walk quietly back the other way. Another time I was peacefully sitting on top of the mountain behind my house when two little baby foxes started climbing up to where I was. Momma wasn't far behind. She wasn't a happy camper so I quietly stood up and left her to her babies. It was the only time in 20 years I'd ever seen that on this mountain. It was awesome!

What a great photo of the beautiful Red Fox. Looks like he was checking you out as much as you were him :) We see more coyote than fox in our area. When we camp in the mountains of NM we have run into a couple. Beautiful creatures but guard the small pets......
