I know pefectly well that an agent's time (as well as that of about 99% of professionals) is very valuable. As such, many agents choose to list only on a few sites. However, if done right, you can actually do great work for your Google search results.
The key to success is entirely in the listing title and description. Consider your standard listing titlt: "Beautiful Downtown Home". By simply adding "Beautiful Downtown Ottawa Home", when Google's robots do their thing and list the site, you've now got a nice new link when potential clients search "downtown Ottawa homes".
Doing the same thing in the description, adding the city name, can do wonders for how your listings appear in search engines. Remember: users aren't going to search "realtors that blog and use active rain", they're going to search phrases such as "downtown [city] homes", "[city] real estate agents" and the like. These are the phrases you can sneak into listing websites and get an enormous amount of exposure doing.
List to as many free listing websites as you can (shameless plug: CanadianaProperty.ca is one of them!) and include the city in your title. Add key words and phrases consumers might use. Do this for 10-15 websites, and you should see some great results!
