Whistler real estate market update for Aug 30

As we get closer to the start of the school year and our thoughts move from summer to fall, Whistler continues to be a busy place. This past weekend saw a great turn out for Whistlers first “Wanderlust” yoga and music festival; this upcoming weekend will bring a good number of visitors to the village for the labour day long weekend with events including the ‘Creekside Stampede’ and music provided by the Whistler Summer Concert Series. The following weekend will see 7,000+ bike riders taking part in the RBC Grand Fondo bike ride from Vancouver to Whistler.

Although it is unlikely that we will beat last month’s sales number of 47, August has seen a decent sales pace posting 34 sales to date. It is worth noting that these sales numbers are similar to the summer months of 2007, which one of the best years on record. Inventory amounts are the lowest they have been for the past 3 years, continuing to match those seen between July 2008 to January 2010.
