The first ever ActiveRain MeetUp in Coeur d'Alene is history. Who needs an excuse to get together for good times and great conversation? Not me! But hosting a MeetUp sounded like fun, and I was extremely curious to see if I could dig up some 'Rainers from my neck 'o the woods.
Coeur d'Alene isn't exactly a metropolis, but I know there are a handful of 'Rainers here abouts, and I hoped to be able to round some of them up. I also knew there was a chance I would only be meeting up with Me, Myself and I.
As it turned out, Patsy Bartson and I spent a pleasant dinner as we compared notes and came away with some new ideas. It's not quantity, it's quality. We both agreed that it was time well spent! It was fun putting the great state of Idaho on the MeetUp Map.
I did hear from some other 'Rainers who would have liked to have been there, but duty called and kept them away. I think it should count that we ALMOST had Marte Cliff, ALMOST had BethAnn Long and ALMOST had Jodi Carpine!
As Patsy and I chatted up our waiter while he snapped our picture, he mentioned that he thought he had heard some other people say they were there for RainCamp. We asked him to try to identify who that might have been, and he made the rounds of the restaurant inside as well as the big patio outside. He couldn't remember, asked a couple of other servers, and came up empty. If there were other 'Rainers there, I am so disappointed to have missed you! I was watching the door and thought I would recognize anyone who might show up.
Next time, I will wear a red carnation in my lapel!
Let it 'Rain!
