Today was my first day at my part-time job at Thompson Tax Service in Huntsville, AL. I actually enjoyed it! I am the Receptionist so all I do is schedule appointments. I didn't make it in time to take the classes to prepare taxes. I am going to plan on doing that next year from January through April 15.

I don't have to commit myself, and the job is really flexible. I can work whenever I want to, and take off it I need to. This will help bring in extra income for me, and maybe I can meet people that are looking to buy or sell a home. Maybe I can learn a little more about tax information, and the IRS than I already know. Does anyone else do this or work a second job?

I keep an occasional part time job as a chef.  I cater weddings, anniversaries, birthday parties etc...   Great networking!

Not me, but if something came along, thats not to say I would turn it down.

I used to love to cater, especially on the smaller scales (20-40) people.  The small scale market is forgotten about in the business.  I'm looking at getting back into hear and there, starting out with housewarming parties.  A few bucks here and there never hurts, and always a chance to Network.

Anyway you can get your clients a "discount" for tax services?  Great way to give them something of value and help out the Accountant expand his client base as well?
