Friday Night Lights Time again in Katy Texas

Yes sir it is finally Friday Night Lights Time again in Katy Texas. I have written about High School football in my blogs for several years. There is nothing like Friday Night High School football here in Texas. I am not saying it is not a big deal in other parts of the country. I am saying all over the State of Texas High School football is a huge deal. If you have just moved here or have lived here but had an opportunity to see a game I encourage you to go. It is fun and really cheap entertainment. The whole event is a spectacle that seeing is to believe. The marching bands and flag wavers are tremendous and these kids can play those instruments while doing complicated marches. The drill team is always excellent and puts on a very good dance performance. The teams in our District being 19-5A are all good and the games are loaded with action and excellent plays.

High School Football Katy Texas

Ticket prices at the stadium are $10 per adult and $5 per student. There are tickets sold during the week at lunch time in each school. You need to have an actual student buy the tickets for you.

This is the first year in a long time we will not have a player on a team. My youngest step-son graduated this prior school year.

Tonight August 31, 2012 we have the following games;

-  Seven Lakes will host Kempner at Rhodes stadium in old Katy Texas starting at 7 PM. Go Spartan’s..

-  Katy will play Klein in Reliant Stadium at 7:30 PM. Katy has had a top football program for years and I expect this team to be great once again this year. How many High School teams get to play in Reliant stadium!

-  Morton Ranch will play Tomball at Tomball and this game starts at 7 PM

-  Cinco Ranch will play Cypress Ranch at the new BBVA Compass soccer stadium. The Houston Chronicle highlighted this contest of the games of the weekend in today’s paper. Cinco Ranch has also had a top flight program for years and I expect this group to be very good this year.

On Saturday September 1 there will be on game:

-         Cy-Fair will play at Katy Taylor or Rhodes Stadium at 6 PM. Cy-fair has had a very good team the last 3-5 years and may have another really good team this year.

Bob:  Yes, it's high school football time again here in Texas.  Up about ten minutes north of Plano, and about 35 minutes north of Dallas, the city of Allen, Texas was all abuzz about their brand new SIXTY MILLION dollar high school stadium.  Very impressive in some ways, and very _______ (fill in the blank with your own words) in some other ways.

Stories were all over the media, TV and radio, and even all over Facebook.

I hope your favorite was the winner.  Real estate professionals love the networking opportunities at high school football games.

Have a most productive September and be sure to have your camera in hand to record the special moments.

Bob

I used to watch the TV program, Friday Night Lights. It sounds like they try to capture the true zealousness but reading your wonderful posts about the fervor, they didn't quite do so. Great local reporting about a Texas force to be reckoned with. cheers cvc

Bob:  Believe it or not, last night the Allen High School Eagles grand-opened their new $60 million stadium.  It seats 18,000... but they somehow squeezed 20,000 football fanatics into the place.  Hanging from the rafters, I guess.

Allen Opens New Stadium Against Southlake « CBS Dallas / Fort Worth.

Anyhoo... the opponent was the Southlake Carroll High School Dragons... who were the Texas High School state champions last year.  The Allen Eagles shut them out... 24-0.

Allen dominates Southlake Carroll in debut of new stadium.

The crazy'ness has begun... LOL.

All I have to say is WOW to all that said in your comments Karen. South Lake Carroll from what I read was suppose to have another champship team this year and Allen beat them bad. That is fantastic for Allen and yes I can only imagine how packed the stadium was and with everyone screaming the whole game it was a rocking great time if you are an Allen fan.  Go Allen.. High School Football in Texas at its best!
