Have you ever called a high producing loan officer, too busy attorney, and full of himself Realtor and gotten no where in a day...I find that speaking to their assistant, secretary, or partner is a sure way to getting results that you want but you must plant the seed for that to happen.  Example this week covered the uselessness of this loan officer who knew nothing of the loan...when I made friends with this assistant we smoothly carried out what we needed to do...Going forward I always try to grab the email or direct number of the person who will get things done..then I make it a point to let them know how much I appreciate their work and then some.  Most of these people never get the credit they deserve and they unfortunately take the blame...if you shift your model of how to get things done you will find that your day will run smoother and for the better.  Now I have to write some thank you notes to those who helped me with week.....and today I get to use my SendOutCard system that I did not have back in 2006  Click here to learn more:  www.sendoutcards.com/jaymchugh

Great point, Jay. Often our assistant can give more current information than I can, since she is there in the office for every update, and while out in the field, I only know the status of things when I left the office. I'll always get back to people, but so often they can get a complete answer faster by asking my assistant directly.

Hi Jay,  I must say that I completely agree with your way of thinking!  I neer actualy thought of things in that form, but it realy does make a lot of sense!  I am extremely grateful you took the time to blog this!  It has completely changed my mind set! It is funny how one idea presented to you, opens up a whole new can of worms!  Your idea, is making my mind go on over drive with niches!  Once I test my niches I will be sure to share them with you!  Once again, thanks Jay!

When it comes to communication with a mortgage person, I rather talk directly with the LO and not an assistant.  When it comes to the title company, the assistant usually has the more up to date info on everything as she is the main contact for everyone and she's great.  With builder reps, I rather deal directly with the rep and not the assistant as they don't always know all the terminology going on.

It's best to have everyone's email addresses so everyone can be copied on everything and then allow whomever has time to respond.
