The only thing I won't do is water flowers for absentee owners. But yes, I have traveled an additional 30 miles to retrieve a forgotten drivers license for a closing, put up other agent's signage which has fallen down, and more. You sound like an exceptional agent--great post!
You get the job done with MINIMAL amount (s) of frustratinon to your client(s). Something we should ALL follow.
The literal "extra mile" sounds to me . . . when emotions are running high, you can handle that and are a true professional!
It's always great to go above and beyond, especially when your clients appreciate you for it!
Teri- Being a Realtor is about building valuable relationships and providing excellent service so we have clients for life. You have clearly demonstrated that!! I'm certain neither party will ever forget you going above and beyond.
I had just read the story of the wedding ring on FB, so I knew about it already. Good example of "above and beyond", yes?
I haven't picked through the trash, but have had to tale out the trash and sweep the house so the closing could take place without a hitch. When it needs to get done, a good agent will do whatever it takes. Well done with the driving to close.
I just read this as a reblog. I think I would only pick thru trash if I was wearing gloves and if I knew that there were no snakes or rats or skunks or....
Its called earning your commission. Things like this should be standard for any Realtor.
Teri, that ring story is totally amazing, and somehow, it doesn't surprise me - he was a New Yorker! And maybe that's what it takes, in another version, to give fabulous service.
Teri, how can someone find a ring in the back of a garbage truck? Everything gets crushed! Glad there are people in the world that will give it a try, even when they really have nothing to gain.
Teri:
If you have to drive across town to deliver a check you have to do it. The seller's agent was being unprofessional.
Teri you are the agent to call in the Twin Cities - if they want TOP NOTCH real estate service!
Best wishes for continued success.
Have a most productive September and be sure to have your camera in hand to capture the special moments.

This is a great post. It is very important to give great customer service. That is one way to get those referrals that we are all looking for. People will remember all of the great things we do for them and tell all of their friends how they loved our service. :)
Great post!!
Good job, Teri. We should all provide exceptional service, but of course many don't. That's OK though. It's what separates our company from others. 8=)
Hey, Teri! I included this post in Last Week's Favorites. Have a great week!
Teri, nice you stepped up and delivered!
And in one sentence, I can say 'That little extra in extraordinary requires an extraordinary mindset'.
Teri, good for you for going the extra mile (okay, miles) for your clients! That service can make a huge difference in the eyes of customers which can lead to very happy customers and hopefully referrals.
Teri, Doing what needs to be done ...needs to be done. Thanks to Jill for the reblog.
