A few Coldwell Banker Bain Principal Managing Brokers were recently discussing the idea of blogging as a group about the real estate industry, our company, culture and communities. One of the group remarked that while we had some video bloggers (more on that later), only George Roth, who you will meet, is currently blogging. The discussion meandered a bit until George himself said, “What about ActiveRain?” It was late in the afternoon with a preponderance of low blood sugar in the group and before we knew it we had all agreed to join and participate in ActiveRain.
So here we are! And, who are we? While many of you may know our company, Coldwell Banker Bain, let me tell you a few things about this team of brokers who will be participating on ActiveRain.
Paula Fortier is a Washington native who is the Principal Broker in our Bellevue branch. Her office has been the number one office in sales in the world for Coldwell Banker numerous times. Yet, despite her lofty achievements Paula is amazingly down to earth and approachable. She is a fierce advocate for her brokers and they love her. She is a certified instructor for clock hours in Washington, teaches the best Contract Review course in the industry and in her spare time she loves to play golf and hang out with her grand kids.
From Issaquah, Mike Winkler manages that branch for Coldwell Banker Bain. He also recently opened a site office in Providence Point on the Pine Lake Plateau. Mike has a long history of community involvement with experience on the Issaquah School Board, as a member of various hospital boards, as the chairman of various committees with the Northwest Multiple Listing Service, and most recently as a member of the Seattle King County Realtors Board of Directors. Mike is certified to teach clock hours in Washington, is a prolific video blogger who also loves to fly fish and ski.
Our Kent Station office is managed by a third generation real estate maven, Debra Snoey. Debra not only has been licensed for 22 years but prior to that she worked in a real estate investment firm. Her compassionate and intuitive nature makes her perfectly suited to manage the busy brokers in Kent Station. In her spare time Debra loves to cook, read and be outside. Rumor has it that she makes a killer Lemon Drop.
Nearly two years ago Gragg Miller brought his successful 60+ broker office in Bellingham Washington into the Coldwell Banker Bain enterprise. Gragg has been in the business for nearly 40 years so he clearly started when he was a teenager. He is known as a calm and thoughtful manager with the ability to motivate his brokers in both good and not so good times. Gragg’s sales staff love the fact that he is always ready to listen to new ideas and has the ability to measure those ideas effectively against what has worked for him in the past. Gragg enjoys golf, fine wine (not necessarily together) and being with his 5 grandchildren.
George Roth has been licensed with Coldwell Banker Bain for 24 years. A successful broker in Seattle and who just last year took on the Principal Broker position for CB Bain in Anacortes. No one knows the advantages or our company or can speak to them more eloquently than George. As was mentioned earlier, George has been a member of and a contributor to ActiveRain for some time. He is an enthusiastic leader and his IT background compels him to keep up with all the latest trends. He has produced a superb recruiting video that is already attracting some great talent to his office. An avid car guy George also enjoys working on his Victorian home; I think he is spending the Labor Day weekend working on siding! What fun!
Last, and probably least, is your humble scribe, me, E. J. Bowlds. I’ve been in real estate so long (35 years) that I am ruined for doing anything else. I am a Principal Managing Broker and Regional Leader for CB Bain on Mercer Island. Over the years I have discovered a unique and effective business planning process that has helped many of my brokers excel. Additionally, I seem to have stumbled onto a program that teaches brokers how to close more, lots more, transactions. I’m an avid reader and book collector. My home barely has room for me, my 22 pound cat and 6,000+ books. I also was once, long ago and far away, the general manager of a minor league baseball team.
Oh and the video blogging references mentioned in this post? Mike Winkler and I have posted nearly 100 videos on our blog www.therealtybros.com. Check it out and in the meantime look for more from one of us next week! -E. J. Bowlds
