Valley View Ferry in Kentucky

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Creative Realty

Valley View Ferry founded in 1780, provides passage over the Kentucky River. This ferry is regarded as the commonwealths oldest continually operating business.

Daniel Boone, Henry Clay and Ulysses S. Grant have been known to be among its passengers. Ferry remained a privately owned business for about 200 years. Now owed by Fayette, Madison and Jessamine counties.

It is estimated to take about 250 cars across the river each day. This is just another example of the quaint things Kentucky has to offer.

Why I became a Realtor (edit/delete)

I have always had two desires, one becoming a nurse, the other a
Realtor. Fresh out of High School I decided to pursue my first goal and go to nursing school. I had such a desire to help mend people, and take care of
them. Going into the medical field taught me so much about life and people. People seem to be the most vulnerable in times of sickness and change. It has truly been an honor to help so many.

After 14 years I thought it was best for me to retire from nursing and
start my next job as a stay at home mother and wife. Let me just say I
always thought nursing was a difficult job.Being a stay at home mother
was definitely the harder of the two for me! I truly respect all of you full
time mothers out there!

Now that my children have grown and attend school full time I was
sitting at home wondering what should I do now? I have always helped
manage our company (remodeling houses with my husband) but I needed
more. That urge to help people was coming back strong. Now was a good
time to pursue my second desire in life, to become a Realtor. I thought
I love everything about houses and I love serving people, why not go
back to school and work hard for my Realtor's License?” That is exactly
what I did, it was not an easy task but with hard work and perseverance I became a Realtor.

Now that I am a Realtor I love everything about it. I truly love
helping people find their very first home. The excitement on their
faces makes it so worthwhile. There is a feeling of accomplishment
when you work so hard to get your very first home of your own. There
is joy as well when you help someone sell their home. That too can
be a very stressful time, and I am so grateful that I can help in
their time of need. A Realtor is your advocate watching out for you,
and helping guide you along the journey of Real Estate.

Of course my first love is helping people but I truly love looking at
houses. Their architectural details, layouts, designs, and landscaping
etc are a pleasure to explore. I also enjoy taking an ugly, abused, andunwanted house and putting sweat, tears and muscle into it, turning it into a beautiful cherished home again. This as well as joining an owner to it, or helping an owner say goodbye and move on to another blessed home, is a fulfilling reward for me.

Caring expertise...knowledge for you!

Nice post...as a regular ferry rider in my area, I found your info interesting.   Nice introduction, too, as to "who you are".
