It’s that time of year again! KAB (Keep Austin Beautiful) has their 18th annual event for the biggest scuba diving and shoreline cleanup in Texas! Rounding up trash from the bottom of Lake Travis and 11 Parks around the lake is the goal for the Sunday morning's clean-up activities!
It is an event all ages so make it a family affair. There are fun contests to see who finds the most unusual pieces of trash…..one year someone found a discarded commode and won the contest! After the clean-up there is a thank you party for the volunteers and even a DJ is lined up for the festivities!
This event will be held RAIN or SHINE so come out and join the fun! Sunday morning September 23rd at 8:00 the fun begins..in the past there have been approximately 1,000 volunteers..500 scuba divers and 500 clean-up shore side…let’s see if we can raise the bar this year and have an even bigger turnout.
The lake levels are low so it’s an excellent opportunity to clean up while there is more exposure of the shoreline. It’s a great chance to help protect our natural resource the Colorado River and be involved in a feel good 
community activity!
