Mr. Postman, I don't need twelve copies of the same advertisement!

Mr. Postman, I don't need twelve copies of the same advertisement!

When I went to my mail box yesterday I found three envelopes (bills) and the rest of the mail box was tightly packed with catalogs.  I only subscribe to one magazine (HOG) Harley Owners Group...the rest of the rags that end up in my mail box are an annoyance.  However, this brief post is not about the rags that annoy me, this post is about the twelve copies of "Hammacher Schlemmer" I received yesterday.  Each was addressed to a different recipient and all in my subdivision, but they ended up in my mail box.

Mr. Postman, I don't need twelve copies of the same advertisement! Mr. Postman, I don't need twelve copies of the same advertisement!

Common sense would cause most people to stop and think about leaving 12 of the same magazines, addressed to 12 unique addresses and people at the same house...one last thing...none of the catalogs were addressed to me.  If anyone is missing the latest issue of "Hammacher Schlemmer" it will be at the Harvest post office...I won't be doing their job by delivering these....and please don't point out a missed networking opportunity :)

I seem to get multiple glossy cards from political candidates. I figure if they can't handle sending me only 1 of their cards that they are not good with managing money and I do not vote for them

Thankfully our mail gal is great, friendly, cooperative and always helpful.  Sounds like the mail person on your end of the line wanted to get off early.

We have to trade mail with our neighbors all the time, but we all know when it comes to "junk".... don't bother, toss it!

Seems like your postman was in a hurry to clear out!

That's a first.  I know it's annoying enough that my husband and I are catalog mailing lists because we have separate accounts for the same stores.

Nick -- did you at least look through one to see what kind of great deals you were missing out on, since you don't get this outstanding catalog?  lol

I decided to drop of the catalogs this afternoon over lunch and naturally the post office was closed (for lunch).  Anyway, I went back later and spoke with the Postmaster who...just couldn't figure out how that happened.

Postmaster: Were they tied or held together with a rubber band, I was asked.

Me: No, and I don't mean to complain, but this sort of thing happens more that it should.

Postmaster:  Well, I'm trying to figure out how this could have happened.

Me: (thinking to myself...this really isn't rocket science) Well, I just thought you should know.

Postmaster:  So you're having miss-directed mail issues?

Me:  (thinking to myself...What???) Yes...walking out the door.

Damned government workers! I'd be willing to bet it was a substitute. I can tell when my regular mail lady isn't there, for sure.
