The annual Kids Fest free open house celebration at the Anderson Recreation Center on Oceanside Road is scheduled for Saturday, September 15. It will run from 12 noon until 4 p.m.

There will be refreshments, give aways, pony rides and other attractions for Rockville Centre families to enjoy.

Representative from all the Village's sports organizations will attend as well as the Rockville Centre Police and Fire Departments. Other attendees will be the Post Office, the Library, the Guild for the Arts and the Rockville Centre Lions Club.

The Lions will be hosting a duck pluck with great prizes given to those whose ducks are plucked. You can purchase ducks for $5 each.

So Liz, duck pluck eh? Sounds fun. I used to participate in a duck race down a a river. They would dump an entire dump truck of ducks over the side of a bridge and they'd "race" to a finish line down stream for great prizes.

Roger I belong to the Lions and so I have to take a ton of chances on the ducks and they will be fo the hooligans.

Tammy it use to be a duck race and a whole festival but the jumped over to the kids fest and made it a duck pluck. Much less man power needed.

JoAnn I will get there at least for a little time.
