200 Years of Steamboats on the Mighty Mississippi
Exhibit features images of historic riverboat by Henry Norman during the last decades of the 19th century when steamboats still dominated the mighty Mississippi. The exhibit includes a featurette of the famed New Orleans, the first steamboat to travel the Mississippi. The bicentennial of her maiden river voyage to Louisiana is celebrated this year, 2012.

Girl Scouts: A Centennial Anniversary Display
In honor of the 100th anniversary of the founding Girl Scouts, the museum has a display of local Girl Scout artifacts including uniforms, photographs, books, awards, crafts and badges. Groups can make reservations for a special program for a visit with re-enactor Linda Collins who performs as Juliette G. Low, the founder of Girl Scouts in America.
