I received an e-mail inquiry about a rental listing yesterday from a prospect who wanted to come up TODAY/SATURDAY to view a townhouse I have for rent.

I responded via e-mail that it would be fine and I proceeded to call his cel phone to set up a time.

He was very surprised when he heard from me and when we arranged to meet TODAY to view the property, he again said how surprised he was to hear from anyone for a weekend rental showing.

He arrived at the property today and viewed the unit and gave me his completed application and check for his move-in monies.

When we shook hands at the end of our meeting and I indicated I would be sending him the lease packet on Monday, he indicated AGAIN that he had not had anyone call him so FAST once he made an inquiry about a rental home.

HELLO!  It's my JOB and it's my LIVELIHOOD!

It always surprises me how many agents don't answer their phones or emails on the weekend and not just for rentals. Why take listings if you aren't willing to do the work?

Great job, Wallace!  I hear the same thing from folks, who are just grateful to get a return phone call, even if a property is no longer available.

There are 8 similar townhouses in the community for rent....I am fortunate to have leased my clients' unit to a GREAT tenant.

I came home with his application and check and took a nap so I could stay up and watch the NASCAR race from Richmond....I do not answer the phone OR show property during races on the weekend

I usually work in my office on Saturday AM when it is quiet...I was having b'fast with my sister and the townhouse was 5 minutes away....I stuck her with the b'fast check.
