Movie Mondays: My Top 10 Favorite Movies: Bruce Willis

Bruce Willis

Movie Mondays are back for the fall and winter months!  I'm going to start of the "season" with Bruce Willis.  I'm anxious to see his new movie, Loopers.

In doing my research for this post I learned that Bruce was born in Germany and raised in New Jersey.  Hey, I lived in NJ for 14 years!  Who knew!  I'm somewhat of a action movie junkie.  I think that's why I like Bruce Willis.  In most of his movies he plays a cop, a hitman or someone in the military.

Bruce Willis trivia:

~High School Student Council President
~Originally cast as Terry Benedict in Ocean's Eleven (Andy Garcia was a better choice)
~Worked in a Chemical Factory before going to college
~Ad-libbed many of John McClane's one-liners in the Die Hard movies
~Was considered for the role of Kyle Reese in Terminator (1984)

Favorite personal quote:

"I'm much more proud of being a father than being an actor."

My Top 10 Favorite: Bruce Willis

1. The Jackal (1997)
2. Sixth Sense (1999)
3. Die Hard (1988)
4. Strking Distance (1993)
5. The Last Boy Scout (1991)
6. Pulp Fiction (1994)
7. Red (2010)
8. The Fifth Element (1998)
9. Armageddon (1998)
10. Death Becomes Her (1992)

Bonus: Look Who's Talking Movies with John Travolta and Kirstie Alley.  (He was the voice of baby, Mikey!)

Hi Ms. Donna, I am a Die Hard fan and like it when he's mean and tough. Kudos to him for rating his role as a dad over being an actor.

I'm into anything with Anthony Hopkins....check out The Edge. Alec Baldwin co stars. We must kill The a great line from the movie. There's plenty of action and great Alaskan scenery. I would love to hear what you think about this movie.

Hi Donna - Bruce Willis was awesome in Pulp Fiction - a great film - and I also liked him in Twelve Monkeys, which was a Terry Gilliam film - he's one of my favorite directors, and was one of the Monty Python guys.

Donna, That's a list of movies that include quite a few we've watched over and over.  And Dick's recommendation is good too.

Debbie R.~ I like all of the Die Hard movies, even the newest one.  I just didn't want to list them all, so I only included the best one.

John~ Sorry.  No explanations here.  Just a weird movie.  Mostly I like to watch John Travolta dance and it has a good soundtrack!

Debbie L.~ The Edge, huh?  I'll check to see if the library has it. Unless you have it?

Dick~ Twelve Monkeys was another strange movies.  Must be why you like Pulp Fiction!  LOL!  Can you explain it to John?

Oh by the way Dick, love Monty Python.  Particularly the Holy Grail!  "We are the knights who say NEE!"

Bliz~ I've seen most of them several times with the exception of Red.

Thanks Barbara Jo.  Just need some movie snacks and I'm ready for a good movie!

Suesan~ Pulp Fiction is a strange movie, but I still enjoyed it. There's a new movie coming out in the Die Hard series, "It's a Good Day to Die Hard".  Looks good.
