(A home is one of the greatest investments you'll make in your life. How do you choose the best neighborhood to live in? Read this guest post by Kim Wolfe, our Buyer Specialist with The Brenda Doll Team, Keller Williams Realty Louisville East.)

Find The Perfect Neighborhood

School buses in neighborhood - courtesy of Alex Starr "Twix" on flickrFactors to consider are the schools you are zoned for, crime, your family's specific needs, and appreciation - as in how much the value of the home is likely to increase.

Get in your car, drive around and find out which areas appeal to you. We suggest that you walk around, and talk to some of the neighbors in that community as well.

A home isn't just an investment when you have a family to think of. Consider the community, and the commute to work and schools. Are you close to shopping, restaurants and other services?

Don't forget to research the property values in the community you choose before making an offer.

If you would like help in determining the property values in any Louisville community, give Kim Wolfe a call at 502-387-5289, or visit our website at NewHomeInLouisville.com.

I live in a suburb with a top rated school district. My dogs don't really seem to care but it will be good for resale! LOL

That was smart of you to move there Shar. I'm still thinking about your elephant video, by the way, it was very touching.
