Amazing how fast a high speed transaction can come to a dial up finish. The house rocked, the land was perfect, price and terms were good, even interest rates were favorable. Sounds like we are on our way to a smooth landing....but....here it comes...Buyer's 8 year old notices there is no cable internet available at the house. He, being a pro gamer could not dream of moving into a home without high speed internet. Dad and mom were just following his directions when they decided this home "wouldn't work". I went over the various options available other than cable and according to JR anything less than cable might as well be dial up. His gaming was over if they purchased.
We are now fast forwarded to today, where we have been looking for the "right" place for about 6 months. None of which are close to the first one. Yes....of course the first one is gone. I always ask if internet is an issue and before JR spoke up, dad said no worries. Since then I also ask if there any children the buyers need to consult prior to writing an offer. Most often I get a well received chuckle. There is a company trying to establish high speed internet all through the State and I am on board to help any way I can. Their website, Michigan Connect can explain more about it. So far, to date, I have lost half a dozen deals because of lack of High Speed Internet. Best of luck in all you do and thanks for reading.
