Been visiting some antique stores lately looking at old LIFE MAGAZINES with cool covers to frame for a home I'm staging. I thought with this being September, 2012 it would be fitting to share some of the articles I found within a publication from September, 1969.... one being from none other than the ….. NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REAL ESTATE BOARDS targeting FSBO’s !!!
Just flipping through the pages looking at the articles and BAM! The tag line ... STILL NO SALE.... catches my eye! Amazing that they speak to the same issues of today..... including the safety of his family by opening their home to complete strangers!
Also find it interesting how it really only speaks to the MAN .... not just the FSBO, but, the Realtor as well........Very Interesting!! That wouldn't quiet be the case today..
I bought this old issue of LIFE Magazine from September 5, 1969 because of the cover.
You will notice the psychedelic art on the cover with a young picture of Peter Max, one of my favorite living Artist. You might recognize his work from the Woodstock to the NBC Peacock…. Max was named an official artist of the 2006 U.S. Olympic Team at the Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy.
He has also been Official Artist of 5 Super Bowls, World Cup USA, The World Series, The U.S. Open, The Indy 500, The NYC Marathon and The Kentucky Derby. His work is unique, special and very collectable.
I own a couple of his works of art and simply love his work and his life story!
This also was the time when Zenith rolled out the Chromacolor Television….. and a company called Toshiba introduced their “Flying Machine” a portable voice recorder!
