Map your path to success!

 

With the fourth quarter almost here, it is time once again to make adjustments to balance the budget for the year.  My business Partner, Belinda Spillman, is always trying to have me make the final cuts for the year so we do not go over budget. 

 

This year has been interesting.  Our sales are way up and profits are up, so there is a surplus.  I know that we should be a squirrel and stock pile the extra money for a snowy day. 

 

Now comes the time in November to map out our path for 2013.  What do you think, will it be a great year in sales?  Will interest rates stay down?  Will the price of homes go up or down?  Will the unemployment figures go down and people get back to work? 

 

I need your opinion.

Will, I was doing just the same thing yesterday.  I believe that in my area home prices as well as interest rates will begin eeking upwards ever so slightly-- HOPEFULLY, getting those reluctant buyers off the fence and into the market!

I tend to be able to monitor this througout the year.  I do like this time of the year as it can dictate how well the year actually went.  A few great sales and you can have a fabulous year.  This business has enough variation that you can't ever be certain.  Planning for 2013 as well.

Will- I've been planning for 2013 as well. This has been a great year for business. I think prices in my area are going to continue to rise. Interest rates I wish I knew, they seem to creep up a bit and then drop back down. I do think that next year will still be a great time to buy because even if they go up the rates are still historically low. I wish you all the best in 2013!

Hi Will - Mary & I are pretty hopeful for next year, and I think as far as local/regional conditions are concerned, we should continue to see improvement. It's those external factors that I worry about - call us cautiously optimistic.

Yes we see 2013 continuing to improve over 2012 and we're grateful the market is on the way back up.  And I'm also very careful about bugeting and keeping expenses down. We got caught big time in 08 and I don't want to ever let that happen again.

I think that is a tough one to call being an election year...just have no idea what will happen. Hopefully the unemployment rates fall. In real estate, I think the rates will stay low and we will see steady improvement. That is, unless my magic 8 ball is broke :(  HA!
