Island South Condos in St. Augustine FLorida was constructed in 1983 and is a cement block structure with a stucco exterior.There is assigned and guest parking and there is public parking along 5th Street.

St. Johns County Pier FacilityAnastasia State Park begins just .6 miles north of the condos. The County Pier facility includes an arts building (dance) and the Pier Pavilion and Volleyball Courts.

This facility hosts many events such as a Taste of the Beach, the New Years Eve fireworks & Chili Cookoff, the Popular "Concerts by the Sea" on Wednesday eves 5-9 May through September, the Farmer's Market on Wednesdays, and many other events throughout the year!

There is ample free parking at the facility. For a small fee you can walk out the pier or go fishing. Senior citizens can pick up a free ticket at the office.

The project was completed on Sept. 4 2012 (Labor Day). Much of the beach was closed to beach goers during the process as the pumping of sand continued to move south ending at A Street.

Grocery shopping is 1.4 miles south straight down A1A Beach Blvd where you will find the Publix and Winn-Dixie shopping plazas. When you get hungry and don't want to cook, you'll find FA Cafe, Panama Hatties, the Sunset Grill, the Coquina Beach Club, Dunes Cracker House, Mango Mangos, the Beachcomber, and more right on the Blvd and many of these within easy walking distance.

It's such a small world - you are my first response to this blog and I used to live in Mesa Arizona and passed through Sun City many times. Our entire population in St. Johns County is only a little more than 3 times the entire population of Sun City
