Wow! I can't believe it! Why did I not know about this before?

O.K., so I have to admit, I'm a little ashamed of myself!  I would like to think that I'm somewhat of a whiz when it comes to computers and websites.  I'm supposed to be right, I'm only 30 and supposedly grew up in the age of new technology.

Boy was I surprised this week!

While researching websites, and real estate related pages, I decided to focus more on my websites.  Sure, I try to keep up on my site provided to me by Century 21®, www.billsomersethomes.com, why would'nt I, the service to build the site is free, I bought the domain name billsomersethomes.com relatively cheap, and hosting through Broadspire is only $60/year.  I'll admit, there still is a lot I need to work on, it's a simple cut and paste site, no need to learn HTML and a few pages are automated through CREST (Century 21® information about Century 21® agents and offices).

But I also had this other site out there.  Many of you have probably heard of them(LOL), provided by POINT2If you have not heard of POINT2, you need to check it out.  So, I set up my POINT2 website nearly a year ago, uploaded some pictures, added my listings, occasionally checked in and updated some items, and just let it be.  I figured I was just going to let it be another place for my listings to gain exposure.

So this week I decided to do a little more research of other agents POINT2 sites. I am so happy I did.  Maybe it's new to the system, or just new to me,  but POINT2 seems to now have MLS integration provided through the standard package!  This may seem little to some of you.  But for an agent that may be new to real estate, or an agent who is working on a limited advertising budget, this is HUGE.

So I did some tweaking, some adding, bought another domain name, www.billsomerset.com . I'm so happy I did.  I feel this new site provided by point2 could rival my old site.  Of course, I'm going to keep them both up and running.  I have great exposure with the old site, www.billsomersethomes.com , and would not want to lose ranking through search engines.  But I'm a little upset with myself for not fully looking into the systems provided by POINT2 earlier.

Take a little advice form me.  If your going to advertise and place your clients properties on sites, make sure your using all of the services provided to you.  Take your time and learn how to use them.  You might come out as surprised as me!

I'm also a P2 fan and guilty of not taking advantage of all it has to offer.  In fact, I've recently sent out some requests for design bids.  The site is so user friendly I began building it on my own, but time is limited and I really want it done.  Ultimately, I'd love to use 1parkplace for my IDX on the site, but for now I have it set up to frame my remax.com search page.

Hear about Point2 all the time, never get to check it. After reading you post will go and check it. I have a bunch of domains which are sitting doing nothing, so this is not a problem for me.

Thanks for reminding

Hi Bill - Hurray for point2  - appealing sites and as you say can be tweeked - Nice post! and Point2 advertising network does RAISE THE ROOF on several levels.

Upload listing photos once for a listing presentation, brochures, and a nice virtual tour generated from your listing photos - that's cool OH and the syndication partners...one of the best parts!!!! glad you're exploring the possibilities on Point2. we'll see you around the Rain. Cheers!

I also just went back to tweak my Point 2 Site after letting it lay dormant for a while.  It's very user friendly and I am thinking of usng it to replace my current "main" site.

Thanks for the comment Tina - For those of us that simply do not want to spend a ton of cash on a site, Point2 seems like the only logical solution.
