Downtown Fort Worth History, A Walking Tour

One of Fort Worth's finest treasures is our downtown. Having traveled to a few other towns I have often gone to great pains to find out "where to go & what to see". In many locations you worry about getting off the beaten path or getting lost in an unsafe part of town. It's also hard to find local flavor and culture unless you know a local resident or happen upon a talkative Concierge at your hotel. I really believe that Fort Worth is different... If you are staying downtown you can step outside at any time of day or night and explore, and you WILL find something worthwhile. It may be art, architecture, shopping, dining, entertainment or even quiet solitude in a green space.

The FREE stuff is all around, but you can certainly spend some money too at a top-notch Steakhouse like Grace, Ruth's Chris, REATA or Del Frisco's or at one of the many clothing shops, jewelers or galleries. There's often a festival or street event going on and if you know where you're headed but don't want to walk just board MOLLY the TROLLEY. Oh and the Concierge's are awesome but just about anyone you bump into on the street will tell you the straight and skinny too.

A few times a year I am sponsoring a FREE HISTORIC DOWNTOWN WALKING TOUR and there are many other organizations and individuals that do these for a small fee. Just Google "Fort Worth Walking Tour" and you'll find one. My next tour will be in March 2013 (date TBD). Contact me for details!

Here's a short video from the Walking Tour we held on September 15th:
