I Will Miss my Friend

By
Real Estate Agent with Crown Key Realty

On the surface at least it would appear that this should be a very good week for me. Later this week I will be cashing the largest check I have ever received for selling a property. Sweet. Big house, country property that had lots of interest from the day the listing came out. Accepted an offer and went into escrow very quickly. The escrow has gone smoothly and the buyers will be signing docs this week. Money will be transferred on Tuesday and my seller will have his check Wednesday or Thursday. I should be dancing in the streets.

I'm not.

The nearly complete transaction is for the home of a good friend. Someone who for a number of reasons is easy to like and easy to respect. He has served both his country and community with honor and dignity. Now he is moving from the left coast to the right coast. He is doing it for family and when he arrives he will find ways to help others and become an early morning fixture at whatever local coffee shop is there. The people there will find him to be a friendly guy with interesting stories to tell. Those who really get to know him will be honored to call him friend.

We have had our going away dinner (he has had many in the last few weeks) and I will miss my friend.

My name is Dale E. Bledsoe with Crown Key realty and as always I may be reached at 209-481-6031.

Always stinks to lose quality people from the community, even if there is a check involved.

Dale -- thanks for sharing something that many people forget about in the entire transaction -- that there are REAL people involved, who we may not see again for a long time.

Why would you lose someone you consider a good friend just because he moves to another coast? With Skype, phones you lose only his physical presence, but you can keep the friendship.

I have quiote a few firends not only on the other coast, but abroad.

Actually, because of the technology some of older friendships are now alive again

When I emigrated from the Soviet Union, I thought that I have lost all my friends forever, but now it is not true. I have them back.

So, make yourself a cup of coffee, get comfortably in the chair and dial your friends using skype, and say "hi, what about a cup of coffee?" :)

Hi Dale, It just gives you a justified reason to now visit him on the other coast. Congrats on the successful transaction!
