Sunset in Fairbanks Alaska - Photo

Fishing and photo taking trip to Alaska is one of my bucket list items. There is just so much beauty there and I want to experience it myself.

Tom: When is sunset up there? The days must be getting shorter. I remember being in Kotzebue in February. Very short days but beautiful clear night skies.

I was in Anchorage once nad managed to enjoy the sights then. But for a close up, we went on a cruise and visited Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway. Really lovely state.

I had forgotten how awesome the sunsets can be in Alaska.  I haven't been there since 1975.  I need to return one day!

Hi Tom, Most photos of Alaska can not do justice to the stunning beauty. Because there can be so much white, it is difficult to capture many things that would make magnificent photos. The Sunsets and the colors are not just vibrant, they extend for such great distances it is even more difficult to capture them in perspective.

 Alaska is my favorite state and I have been there 3 times. Your picture is beautiful and you are so right about pictures not doing Alaska justice. My favorite city is Fairbanks but I think it is because it is the last leg to go to the Artiac Circle and to Prudhoe Bay. I like visiting Kenai Peninsula too as we  had fun doing down the river. Alaska has so much to offer.

Pretty shot. I haven't been to Alaska since I was about 4 years old. Need to return to see the lights.
