A Great Lunch and a Sale!

Real Estate Broker/Owner with Wilmington Real Estate 4U Wilmington, NC

Recently, Sandy and I decided to try the new Jax Fifth Avenue Deli and Ale House that recently  opened across the street from our office on New Centre Drive in Wilmington, NC, as it couldn't be more convenient....it is less than 100 feet from our office building.  On our first visit, Sandy Thompson, the owner, introduced herself and asked about us......long story short, she was looking for property, became a client and puchased a lot in Shinn Creek.

Jax used to be a diner that did not fare too well; don't know why because it is in a great location, and  close to everything.  After the diner failed it had become a used car dealership for quite a few years, which also went out of business...mainly, I think,  BECAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE  A SILVER DINER!!

The new owners, Jack and Sandy Thompson, are originally from New York by way of Florida, and have a succesful track record of this type of eating establishment.  As the name implies Ale and Deli....plenty of domestic and imported beers, many of them on tap, with some unique sounding names....not your everyday fare.  The deli aspect of Jax is also pretty unique...huge dill pickes in a jar, on the table and served with every order.  Jax menu is very extensive, some 25 or so sandwiches, flat bread pizzas, soups, and plenty of beer...did I mention beer?  I'm planning to try out many of Jax entries over the course of our eating and beer drinking enjoyment this year.   Jax is NOT A DINER as they will tell and as their ads will tell you.   The food is not diner food (I love diner food), but I love Jax's deli choices much better.  Typically, you will leave with a doggy bag as the portions are more than generous.  Sandy and I will need to start sharing or you will be "rolling us out of there."

I'm saving up for the #24 on the menu :THE PARK AVENUE" ....A new Harley Davidson motorcycle, a bottle of Dom Perignon, a ham sandwich, all for only $25,000.00....a two week wait for delivery. LOL :)

Jax's tables are recycled wood from the Cape Fear River, right here in Wilmington, NC,  most of which was either lost in shipment years ago, or from the many wooden ships that once traveled these waters.    The flooring is from our own Battleship located on the Cape Fear River. There are flat screen tv's  galore so stop in to catch a game, share a beer or just to chat.  The bar is open and elegant, yet rustic.

This is one eatery you won't want to miss.   The timing is perfect.....stop in, grab lunch, dinner or just a snack and drink.   Jax is now booking for holiday parties.......again perfect timing.....take your friends, family or your office.....Sandy and I hope to see you there!!!   Become a regular.................you know that we have!
