Weekly Review for Bellingham Real Estate | Jan 13th - 19th 2008 

 Only 15 homes came on the market this week in Bellingham. The average priced home was $532,812. However, this figure was a bit skewed due to one home being listed at $2,600,000. If we look at the median price of homes listed this week we get $305,000. $305,000 is very close to the 2007 year end median price of $315,000.

The really good news for sellers is that 18 homes pended this week. It is very nice to see more homes sold than listed this week. There are currently 477 homes on the market in Bellingham. The median listing price for these homes is $374,950, while the average listing price is $475,000. The median listing price of home pending this week was $310,000, while the average was $370,000. The average days on market for homes coming off the market this week was 88.

 

 New Listing Highlights for the Week

The previously mentioned home on Lakeview came on the market for $2,600,000. This home is HUGE at 6,425sq.ft with a 3 car detached garage and striking views of Lake Whatcom.

There were a couple of entry level homes that came on the market in the Columbia Neighborhood & Sunnyland Neighborhood this week. Both homes have 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bathroom and are just under 1,000 sq.ft. These homes came on the market at $265,000 & $269,000.

The new construction inventory was very low this week, as we would expect for this time of year. Tercel Corp did list a couple of spec homes on Kramer Ln off Bakerview.

Ryan, I've heard that Washington is doing quite well compared the remainder of our nation. It's amazing, though, the prices. Even with a waterfront, that sounds high to me. Guess we don't have many lake waterfront properties here though. ;-)
