Gaslight Festival J-town 2012 car show T-shirt

Last Sunday, September 16, 2012 my husband Phil and I attended the Gaslight Festival Car Show 2012. We couldn't have asked for better weather! There was a great turnout.

I was pleasantly surprised at all the people that stopped and talked to us about the car. Maybe I shouldn't have been, since Phil had won his first trophy the day before in the Kentucky Cruizers car show in Carrollton.

Our entry was a 1962 Ford Fairlane 500. It has a 221 V8 engine, which is the smallest V8 engine Ford ever made. It has 4 doors, not 2 so it is definitely a cruiser, although it will pick up some speeds, trust me! But don't take my word for it...I, the person who hit 3 deers within a year, will not drive it with a ten foot pole. =)

This car show had for the most part very high quality cars and I enjoyed looking at them all. I also enjoyed getting a new T-shirt, pictured above. Pretty cool, huh? My cat just wouldn't let me take a picture without her (see last photo).

So I will be quiet now and let you enjoy the photos. After all, it is Wordless Wednesday! ;)

Thank you Adrian! He's been on Cloud Nine all week! A happy husband is a happy life! LOL (To clarify, it wasn't first place, but his first trophy.)

Congrats to Phil!  I just love these car shows, don't you?  And it seems like we get to talk with so many people that we would never otherwise get an opportunity to.  I'm glad you guys had a great time!

Thanks Linda! What kind of car do you have? Going to your blog to see if I can find out. ;)

Well, I guess you can attend car shows without actually having one. ;)

Lynda-WOW, that Ford is more than 50 years old and still looks good. That's some dedication your husband puts, but it looks like a winner. Maybe better now than when it came off the assembly line.

Yep Wayne, we were just talking about that last night how it's 50 years old (Well maybe more now since they roll out the new models around September? I don't know if they did that back then.) Thanks for the compliment, I'll pass it along to him!

I love old car shows and would own many if I could afford the upkeep and storage. Well, and the price to buy them first. Ha.

Hope your mom likes old cars too because I put a picture of one in her card! :) We would probably have several if we had the money and the space too.
