Sky high at Penns Peak – Jim Thorpe, PA

Some nights are special because of who you’re with, or what you do. Some nights, it’s because of where you are. Penns Peak is one of those places. This vista-filled venue packs in an eclectic mix of national and regional talent including live bands, comedy acts and other enticing entertainment…with room for 1,800 partygoers, no less!

That doesn’t mean that every night is a concert, and sad as it is, I haven’t been to one of their bigggies yet. But actually, you don’t need one! You can see the lineup anytime at PennsPeak.com, but the night I went was for a deck party of smaller, yet perfect, size. The local band, small crowd, blue-sky blissful scene was just right.

Inside and out the place is gorgeous, but the deck adds a 50-mile view of the Appalachians and Beltzville Lake you just can’t beat for breathtaking. And sometimes the sky backs it up with magic. On our night, crimson sunset splashed into amethyst, setting the sweet stage for more.

We rocked. We rolled. We brainstormed on more fun while taking our fair share. On the other hand, it doesn’t have to be public. The Peak is also available for spectacular weddings and special events. It boasts two hopping bars plus Roadie’s restaurant. Ear-splitting amusement, gut busting hilarity, cocktails or ultimate romance. It takes everything up a notch on the special scale.

Right now fall foliage is getting ready to spark the Pocono mountains ablaze! Timing couldn’t be better for your first taste of Penns Peak. I know what I’m thinking… a little yumyum dessert, and a whole lot of mountain masterpiece and sky candy, a la carte.
