Watkins Glen Grand Prix Festival 2012.
I don't know about you, but I'm an 'old car' buff. Old cars intrigue, delight and amaze me. It likely stems from being a wee girl, not much more than 1 or 2 years old and driving around with my Dad. He would point out every car to me and tell me it's name. He knew them all and still does.
This resulted in me knowing more about cars by the time I started school than likely any other subject going.
You can bet that when the opportunity arose to attend the Watkins Glen Vintage Grand Prix Festival this year, I jumped at it. So many old cars in one little town I have never seen before. Every colour, shape, size, make and model imaginable was there.
I love Austin Healeys and there were a great number to be seen there.
Between vintage car races, runs around the original Watkins Glen Race Track (which happens to go right down the main street), talks about vintage cars, displays of old cars, vendors selling car stuff, parades featuring old cars and chats with people from all over the world about old cars, I had such a good time that I didn't even notice the weekend flying by.
I took a ton of pictures to share with my Dad and my brothers. Here is the slide show I made for them.
I think I've watched it a few dozen times already; dreaming of all of those beautiful cars.
Now I just can't wait for next year so that I can attend the Watkins Glen Vintage Grand Prix Festival once again!
