A couple of weeks ago my broker and brother Billy let me know that we may be getting a new listing that was an estate property. The property is 44 acres, offers spectacular views, features a beautiful home, a native forest restoration project and some interesting subdivision potential. All of these individual attributes are worth featuring in our marketing, but I have to admit there was one property attribute that I was most excited about highlighting. The fun loving seller constructed a 300+ foot long slip and slide.
Last week, we had a professional photographer come up to shoot the property. I thought this would be a fine time to bring up my cameras to take some of my own pictures and videos. One of the cameras I had on hand was a Contour Roam. This is like a gopro. I asked the owner if he minded if I shot a video of the slide and he agreed. He turned on the water and wanted to join in the action. I was even able to get my broker and brother Billy to join in on the fun. After we had gone down the slide a few times, the seller commented that the slip and slide was like a time machine. One trip down the slide and you feel like a time machine takes you back to when you were eight years old. A marketing hook was born. Here are some photos of us "testing" out the time machine and the video that resulted from our efforts.
Here is the slip and slide. It ends in a pool that is out of sight. Not a bad view from the start.
Here I am with the contour camera shooting as I go.
Here is my brother and broker Billy enjoying the slide.
Here I am about to splash into the pool.
The fruit of my "labors". A sneak peek video of the new listing.
Needless to say, this was one of the more enjoyable real estate marketing endeavors I have experienced.
